Hike 2

These are from a state park that is very close to my house. I don't know if it's because I'm from the desert, but to me the surroundings here seem so unreal, like I'm in a magazine or movie. I guess eventually all the wonder at trees and water will wear off, but for now I'm enchanted. I noticed that there are cross-country skiing trails around the lake, so I'm hoping to look into that this winter.

My dad thought this was a dogwood tree?

Oh man, those pictures look awesome. Brian and I say that the problem with going on vacation is the fact that it is hard to go somewhere that is as pretty as Colorado. I guess we will have to head up there sometime in our lifetime. It looks SOOOOOOOOO beautiful!!!!!!

K, you remind me of when I first moved up here. I had never realized how thirsty my brain was for green and trees and lakes and rivers. I still get goose bumps when I go driving through tunnels of trees that are massive and leafy and green, green, green.

And Sarah's right. We didn't like driving through Kansas, partly because it was right after Colorado.

ryc: I do want to be a counselor next year, as long as I can make it work out. And yeah, I like the pic too. I would have put it up sooner, but it took me a long time to figure out how to do it. I'm slow like that.
