To be board-certified in Emergency Medicine, one must first pass a written exam (woohoo!) and then the oral boards. Oral boards are scheduled twice a year, and there is a lottery system to determine whether or not you get the Spring or Fall test date. Luckily, I drew October, since there was that whole wedding business going on in April. For some reason, his "mid-leave" two-week break doesn't happen until October. I ran a half marathon last Sunday (Yes, I also called my father!). I ended up finishing much better than I thought, at 2:30. For some reason, I had it in my head that it would take me 3 hours to finish. I did walk about a quarter of a mile of the race because I got a bit overheated, but overall I'm pretty happy with how I did.
